What It Is: Fitness clothes and running shoes for women from the New Balance.

What You Might Not Know: The New Balance Vazee Pace V2 running shoes I blog about here just earned Editor’s Choice bragging rights in Competitor Magazine’s “2016 Fall Road Running Shoe Buyer’s Guide.”

Feelin’ the Love: I’ve been reviewing New Balance running shoes for a while, but I think this season’s test-drive might be my favorite. (Although these kicks are a close second.) With a nicely cushioned sole and room-to-wiggle near the toes, the popular Vazee Pace V2 casual runners easily score 10 out of 10 for comfort.

These shoes were built for high performance running and speed, and, yeah, they do feel great out on the road and in the gym. But, frankly, New Balance had me at “hello” on style alone. Bright pink/guava paired with light blue—total eye candy.😍Shoe porn to follow…

Pretty, right? And a perfect complement to the Impact Premium Printed Tights also featured in these pics. The two together are right on point.

I don’t often go for full-length leggings when working out because if the material is thick, I’m worried I might overheat on a longer run or in the gym. Not with these. Lightweight but durable, the fabric is noticeably soft and thin, but not at all in a see-through kind of way. There are also mesh panels behind the knees for more cooling power once the sweat starts.

These printed fitness tights come with a feature I’ve grown to rely on in workout wear—mini pocket to stash bobby pins, etc.—and a new-to-me feature that became an instant obsession: zippers at the hem. Workout leggings like these, that are quite tapered at the ankle, are a struggle to pull on and off over your heels, especially if you’re in a post-workout sweat. Zippers solve that problem and fondly remind me of jeans I had growing up in the ’80s.

Along with the Vazee Pace V2 running shoes and printed workout tights, I wore the New Balance Ice Tank (buttery soft, breezy) and Tenderly Obsessive bra (really strange name), with fabric constructed from recycled yarns. The entire New Balance outfit performed exceptionally well for working out and fit true to size.

If I Could Change One Thing: New Balance, can we get the printed tights design in a training short too?

Should You Buy It? I recommend all the pieces I tried. In particular, I can’t get enough of the shoe/tights pairing. Prices range from $44-$139 CND / $39-$109 USD. Shop the look here for New Balance Canada and here for New Balance USA. Or there’s Amazon.
